Description

Let’s give a “hand” and save a spot on the ofrenda for our Día de los Muertos—inspired T-shirt, paying final respects to a faithfully departed local grocer.

Handy Andy, which was founded in 1927, was a San Antonio grocery chain that many people from Texas shopped at until its last location closed in the 2000s.

Our design features a calavera version of the beloved Andy with his iconic horn-rimmed glasses and work pencil tucked behind his ear. Among the decorative elements placed on this sugar skull illustration is a Thank You bag, which is our way of thanking this local icon for his years of service and the memories made along the way.

This screen-printed shirt makes the perfect gift for folks who love San Anto history as well as people who have Handy Andy listed on their résumés.

Every BarbacoApparel graphic tee is an original design, made with love and crafted with an appreciation for Tex-Mex culture. To learn more about BarbacoApparel, visit our About Us page.
